The Office of Workforce Development is responsible for determining the needs of the agency and for development and delivery of a variety of programs. Through training activities, employees improve the skills they need to satisfy the requirements of their job, or meet individual professional development needs.
State of Arizona Workforce Report![]()
This annual report contains information about state personnel and the operation of the state personnel system. More than 30 charts and tables detail the following areas: compensation; employee mobility; equal employment, and workforce characteristics.
New Employee Orientation
Employees are welcomed to the Department on a monthly basis.
Leadership Development Program
Supervisors and managers attend 30 hours of training to meet the
requirements of a legislatively mandated leadership program.
Certified Public Manager
Upon completion of the Management Leadership Program, employees have the
opportunity to continue their education by enrolling in the Certified Public
Manager (CPM) program at Arizona State University. (Other requirements may
be needed to qualify for entry in this program.)
Career Development/Tuition Reimbursement
Employees have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, skills, and
abilities by attending an educational or technical institution to obtain
Continuing Education Unit's or pursue a degree. Tuition reimbursement may
be available for employees who have completed their original probation.
Distance Learning Program
The Office of Workforce Development coordinates the Distance Learning activities for the State of Arizona. Distance learning provides the unique ability to deliver instruction and training to
individuals in their home, office or classroom when face-to-face interaction is
not possible.
